Transdisciplinario
It refers to the quality of transdisciplinarity, i.e., it is a research strategy that goes beyond disciplinary boundaries in order to create a holistic approach. To be transdisciplinary is to value and take into account each field in order to be able to appreciate everything beyond conventional boundaries.
Mixiote
The mixiotes is the epidermis of a maguey stalk. It is carefully separated from the plant to obtain the thin and translucent membrane. After a process that consists of letting it dry, it is rolled and marketed to Mexican families who usually make a dish with the same name.
Piñata
It comes from the Italian word “pignatta” whose meaning is fragile pot. It refers to a container made of different materials with candies, sweets and toys inside. The purpose of it is that people who are in a celebration hit it until they break it to take its content.
Epopeya
An epic (Epopeya) means a poem of great length. It is characterized for being a narrative text that generally presents a great and public feat or action that is performed by some character of heroic spirit. They contain supernatural and fantastic details developed in prose or in long verses.
Disonancia
Disonancia, Dissonance in English, is a word that refers to a resonance or sound that does not please, it is unpleasant lacking harmony. It could be a voice or the melody of a musical instrument but without concordance or agreement it will not have the approval given to sounds pleasing to the human ear.
Molcajete
It is a mortar made of stone, widely used in Mexico. It is a stump with three short legs, used to crush or grind ingredients for Mexican recipes. With this instrument spices, vegetables and grains are crushed or martaja for seasoning dishes or for the preparation of sauces.
Cataleya
Cattleya or Cataleya is a species of epiphytic orchids found mainly in Central and South America. This genus of orchids is present in countries ranging from Costa Rica to Argentina in different habitats at elevations from 100 to 2000 meters. Some species are found in mountain, Amazonian and dry forests.
Tlayuda
The tlayuda is a Oaxacan street dish consisting of a large corn dough tortilla covered with lard, refried beans and string cheese. The term tlayuda refers to both the dish and the name of the tortilla.
Hexa
Hexa comes from the Greek hex, meaning ‘six’. It is used, especially in many scientific and technical terms.
Chinicuiles
Chinicuiles are a Mexican dish prepared with maguey worms that infest the root of maguey and agave plants before they are harvested for human consumption. They are traditionally harvested in Tlaxcala and Hidalgo. These worms are the same ones that can be found at the bottom of a bottle of mezcal.
Jumiles
The word Jumiles comes from the Nahuatl language Xomilli. They are small stink bugs native to the region of Taxco, in the state of Guerrero, Mexico. They feed on oak leaves. Any edible hemiptera of the families Coreidae or Pentatomidae can also be considered jumiles.

The Greeks also consider Tuesday (and especially the 13th) an unlucky day. Tuesday is considered to be dominated by the influence of Ares, the god of war (or Mars, the Roman equivalent).
In Italian popular culture, Friday the 17th is considered an unlucky day. The origin of this belief could be traced back to the writing of the number 17, in Roman numerals: XVII. Shuffling the digits of the number easily yields the word VIXI ‘I have lived’, which implies death in actuality, a harbinger of bad luck.
